BUCKLAND.
ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING.
The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Paul's was held in the Public Hall on the evening of July 2, there being a large attendance. After a short musical programme the vicar (the Rev. J. P. Cowie) gave a short address touching on matters of interest to the members of the church. In welcoming Mr. Driver back, he referred to the loss to the church during the year, as the Harper, Davy, Sim, and Johnston families had left the district. In spite of this, buckland had met her liabilities, the bal-ance-sheet showing: Receipts, £162 6s Od, and expenditure £l£l. A handsome lectern bearing Jp© names of members of the churebfwho had fallen at the front, isfd an honours board, in the church. Yodd; people's warden, Mr. Driver; vestry, Messrs. E. Carter, m. Bullock, I. Wilcox, H. H. D. WU£, A. Hewitt, W. J. Jefferies, F. fyjWykes; auditor, Mr. H. H. D. Wily. After the formal meeting closed the meeting sat down to supper, and informally discussed suggested improvements in jhurch work for the coming year.
