SKATING CARNIVAL
A BRILLIANT SUCCESS.
There was an exceptionally large attendance at the Premier Hall on Tuesday evening of last week, the attraction being a monster skating carnival held under the auspices of the proprietor of the local skating rink, Mr. John J. Coady. The management had elaborate arrangements complete, and everything went off without the slightest hitch. From all points of view the carnival, the first of its kind in Pukekohe, for many years at least, was an unqualified success. Besides the large number of spectators, there was a large representation of skaters, ami the form exhibited by a number rf the contestants for the valgus events revealed the fact that Pukekohe contains some promising skaters. A number of the learners' brigade have made rapid progress with the r *.t, and in a short time will ligare among the first rmk of skjters in ihe Dominion. ._ . .
There was a large representation of fancy dresses, contrary to'expectations, and these presented a brilliant spectacle, as the forms donning the dresses glided around the hall.
