DISTRICT HOSPITAL
LOWER WAIKATO DISTRICT
PROPOSED.
Speaking the the annual meeting of the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce the president (Mr. R. P. Webster) advocated a renewal of the agitation for a Lower Waikate Hospital, and contended that tho Auckland Hospital and Charitable AW Board had treated this district shabbily. A site had been offered free to the board, but the board turned down Pukekohe and Waiuku, and then purchased a large and MPf" 8 "* hospital site at Manurewa. The population in this district was increasing rapidly, and the time was fast approaching when a separate noapiwi district should be formed. Mr. T. E. McMillan strongly supported the president's arguments in favour of a Lower Waikato Hospital District, and proposed that the j secretary be instructed to obtain all information referring thereto, and report at next meeting. The president seconded the motion, m** which was carried unanimously. *^
