FRANKLIN LICENSING COMMITTEE
ANNUAL MEETING,
At the annual meeting of the Franklin Licensing Committee there were present: Messrs F. K, Hunt, S.M. (chairman), C. K. Lawrie, D. W. Jones and E. T. Frost, and Sergeant Cowan (clerk). Renewals. Renewals of publicans' licenses were granted as follows:—Charles Clarke (Pukekohe Hotel), W. C. Waugh (Drury Hotel), Joseph Ryan (Papakura Hotel, Papakura), and E. J. Morrison (Kentish Hotel, VVaiuku).
Publicans' licenses were granted to W. J. Taylor (Tuakau Hotel), Theodore Frederick Hodges (Globe Hotel, Papakura), Richard J). Dunn (Patumahoe Hotel). A letter was received from the Health Department complaining of tubs and kitchen sink waste pipes in the Pnkekohe Hotel, also the drainage at the Globe Hotel, Papakura, was unsatisfactory. The soil pipe fixed inside the Patumahoe Hotel should be removed to the outside, and the ventilator shaft carried up above the roof clear of eaves and windows. At the Waiuku Hotel, the antisyphon pipe from the w.e. basin upstairs was only six inches from the bedroom window, and should be carried up. clear of the eaves. The urinal at Drury Hotel required repairing. The police reported that the latter had been completed.
The committee instructed that the work required by the Health Department be done, and to be completed before the next quarterly meeting.
