WEDDING BELLS
CROSBIE -CLEMENTS. The Presbyterian Church at Bombay was well-filled wjth people last Wednesday morning, the attraction being a wedding. The contracting parlies were Mr. John Smith Crosbie, late of 19th Rifles, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, youngest son 'of the late Mr. T. Crosbie, of Thames, and Fanny, youngest daughter of the late Mr. R, 'and Mrs. Clements, Bombay. The church had been beautifully decorated by the friends cf the bride, and the Rev. S. Nixon was the officiating minister, while Mr. A. J. Harris presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. li. Clements, of Dargaville, was charmingly attired in a cream embroidered jap silk, with the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, .and carried a beautiful bouquet of white and cream narcissus, with maidenhair fern and white streamers. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Clements, sister of bride, who wore a very pretty pale blue voile dress relieved with georgette collar, and silklace fishue, black silk hat relieved with blue, and carried a bouquet of white narcissus, with pink flowers and blue streamers; and Miss Mollie North, neice of bride, who looked charming in a white voile dress, and wreath of pink flowers in hair, and carried a basket of pink floweis, with ferns and ribbon streamers. Mr. W. Leith (late 23rd Regt., N.Z.E.F., acted as best man. After the ceremony, amid a shower of confetti, the wedding party were motored to Pukekohe. to be photographed, and thence to the home of the bride's mother, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of by over 30 guests. The centre of the ladened tables was adorned by a lovely threedecker wedding cake (a present to the bridegroom by a Thame's confectioner). Friends and relatives were present from Auckland, Dargaville, Thames, and Te Awamutu. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed bv Mr. Best, and responded to by the bridegroom, other toasts being: The bridesmaids, responded to by Mr. Leitch, who proposed the toast of one of the "whitest women he had ever met," our hostess (Mrs. Crosbie), and the toast of the quests, responded to by Mr. Donovan, and eligible bachelor were also honoured. The bride's travelling dress was a K rey flannel costume and black velour hat. The bridegroom's gift to-.the bride was a handfome black f£iW to bridesmaids gold bangW «# gold brooch. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a choice travell.ng rug. The wedding paN«nts were numerous, ostlv, ami uiJK and included upwauls of KM) Meques. Amid much confetti, and t« good wishes of all, the htopv couple left to catch the exm-el to Auckland, where the honevnlon will be spent, before takZ I ftheir abode at Netherton.
