Thanks! | PUKEKOHE, June Mth, 1920. BEAR SIR (or MADAM)— i ' ~«*,• _ With sincere thanks for the trading oonnection g-v r have been good enough to favour me with, I F - desire to place on record my gratitude and due ap--1 («ws preciation of such. The liberal support accorded to me by your good self and others during the past 27 years of my business connection with Residents of Pukekohe and the surrounding districts has had much to do in building the business up to-its present satisfactory position; one, which both you and I can take mutual satisfaction in knowing is in the very forefront of country stores in the Auckland Province which carry on trading in a similar manner. Knowing this, I can assure you it is with some conI relinquish the business, and the conhS&lori same has given me with so many friends, and a staff of loyal and energetic employees. Mr successors, "The Farmers' Union Trading Co. (Auckland), Ltd., have been so eminently successful during the past two years as a co-operative trading concern, that the Board of Directors have had pleasure in acquiescing to the desire of numerous of their Shareholders to establish Distributing Depots or Chain of Stores in various Country Townships throughout the Auckland Province, and so the Residents of Pukekohe and the districts adjacent are now afforded the opportunity of taking the full advantage of dividends on Shares and rebates on Purchases by becoming Shareholders in this great co» operative trading concern, which the Directors claim has during the last 12 months established the record of the largest trading turnover of any similar concern for the same period thoughout New Zealand. Mr. Laidlaw, General Manager of the Farmers' Union Trading Co., expressed his desire that my staff should remain in the Pukekohe Branch of the Company's service, and Mr. J. G. Russell, my former Managing Accountant, has been appointed General Manager of this Branch. Therefore, I am pleased to be able to tell you that (with a few exceptions) the different Departments will be staffed under the same Managers, who will in every way be eager to give you tthe same careful and proper attention they have given in the past. So, combined with the knowledge that the business has now been linked up to the biggest co-operative trading company in the Dominion, I can with confidence hope that you will extend to my successors the favour of your trading requirements in like manner to the favours you have bestowed on me, and for which I once more most heartily thank you, taking this opportunity of wishing you and yours during many years to follow a full measure of good health and prosperity. Yours faithfully, WM. ROULSTON.

The Farmers' Union Trading Co. (Auckland) LIMITED. (Wlo Crowd pr Honey fill of Quality.) _ ANOTHER Store has now been added to the 9 Company's chain of distributing depots, viz; 9 the Business of Mr. Wm. ROULSTON, and 9 we wish to notify Shareholders and the 9 public in general, that in taking over the business 9 we are retaining the same Staff, and have ap- 9 pointed Mr. J. G. Rcsseu. as General Manager 9 of the Pukekohe Depot, so you will be cheerfully 9 greeted by the "SAiffe Departmental Managers, and I Sales people as hitherto. 9 FARMERS aixl country residents who have not 9 yet taken Shares in the Farmers' Union 9 Trading Company will be wise if they make 9 early application. On Ordinary Shares, 9 a dividend of 8 per cent, free of income tax was 9 paid last year, and this rate the Directors intend to 9 maintain. The substantial rebates guaranteed 9 by the Company last December are also still being 9 allowed oft' shareholders' purchases. These 9 savings range from 22 per cent, oft Groceries, Flour 9 Sugar, and Kerosene, to 5 per cent, off Drapery, 9 Clothing, Furniture. Bedding, Boots, Saddlery, I Jewellery, Stationery, Farm Implements, Seeds, 9 Crockery, and Hardware (except rooting iron, wire 9 cement, lime and galvanised piping). 9 TO understand why the Farmers' Union Trad- 9 ing Company can pay such rebates one 9 must remember that it is a co-operative, and 9 not a private concern. The shareholders 9 are both ownets and customers, and after paying I working expenses the whole of the prolit goes to 9 the shareholders in dividends and rebates, or in 9 reserves that strengthen the Company and increase 9 the value of its Shares. These reserves, it should I be noted, belong exclusively to the ordinary share- I holders, as the Company's Articles of Association 9 specially provide that no preference shareholder 9 can ever gain any benefit from them. The 9 strong position of the ordinary shareholder is no 9 doubt one of the cheif reasons why the jCI 9 Ordinary Shares of the Company are in such great I demand. As these Shares are still bring offered H at par, every one who intends to become ;i slnre- I holder should apply at once to the Companv Inr ;i 9 reasonable holding. 9 THE FARMERS' UNION TRADING GO. (AUCKLAND) LTD. tr He Farmers' Great Co-operative. KING ST. PUKEKOHE.
