At Wednesday's meeting ol the Franklin County Council, Cr. Wilcox said that during the week of the railway strike more damage was done to the roads in the Pukekohe East Riding than their own traffic would do in'l2 months, due to heavy motor traflic. It had cost the riding about £3O to repair the damage done during that week. He thought that something should be done to get some recompense for the damage done due to motor traffic. As the chairman was a member ol the P.o>al Commission set up to report on the Hamilton-Helensville Road, :.nd as he had everything at his finger tips, Cr. Wilson was satisfied to leave the matter in his hands to see what could be done in the future.
