One wholesaler stated he considered that if they held out a little longer the price would have been reduced still further. The whole of the Pukekohe Power House Staff, including the engineer in charge, has been down with influenza. At the present time only one man is left 'to carry on the work, which, considering the long run. from morning until late at night, has meant a very strenuous time. Yesterday, in order to keep the power on, the engineer (Mr W. Wyatt) had to get up from a bed of sickness and work a shift. For a few days, until some of the staff recover, a restricted service, with fewer hours, only will be available. No doubt the public will understand j that, under present conditions, a full service cannot leasonably be expected
