MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS
MONDAY NEXT. The annual meeting of householders in Pukekohe will be held on Monday next, May 3, when the school committee for the ensuing year will be elected. Up to the present the required number have been nominated namely, Messrs F. Perkins. J. Patterson. E. Smith. M. Shaw. A. F, Brown, W. Wyatt and F. J. Morrow, members of the retiring committee, and Messrs J. G. Ward and J. W. Johns. The other two members of the old committee (RevMartin and F. Richards) have left the district. In accoi'dance with the conditions of the nominations householders in rural ai'eas (Pukekohe for instance) can nominate candidates on the night of the meeting. It is certain that an election will be necessary. All householders should make a special effort to attend, thus signifying that they are interested in the education of their children. A first-class education nowadays is imperative if one wants to get along successfully in this big wide world.
