PUKEKOHE TRANSIT
AND THE STRIKE. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS. "TIMES" DELIVERY SERVICE. Motor lorries and cars are doing' good work in the Pukekohe district to tide over the railway workers' strike period, though it will not be long before things become decidedly awkward. Arrangements for the cartage of cream are advertised by the New Zealand Dairy Company. The delivery of "The Franklin and Pukekohe Times" has been very adversely affected, three of the "Times" runners ,jn the borough being down with influenza. In the meantime the papers will be posted to subscribers within the borough. It is not desired that Pukekohe Boi;ough subscribers should call at the office for their papers, as this would interfere seriously with the systematic deliveiy by post. j In the outlying townships, along the railway line efforts aie being made to send the papers to agents by motor, but where such agents do not receive their packages thej should try and call, or ask a friend coming into Pukekohe to call at our office for them. This suggestion also applies to postal subscribers outsid" Pukekohe Borough who do not get their copies, as the post office refuses to take pape.s for transmission by rail.
Our agents and individual subscribers at Patumahoe, Clenbrook. Mauku. Waiuku. Waipipi. Kohe Kobe and Awhitu Central will receive their papers through the usual channels, these districts being off the railway line.
