Hunua-Clevedon Road. The Manukau County Council wrote stating that it thought each county should contribute £2OO apiece to obtain the Government grant of £4OO to construct a bridge on the above road. If Franklin would transfer £IOO from the road to the bridge this would be good policy, as the road would be of little service until the bridge was built. (The Franklin offer was £IOO for the bridge and £2OO on the road.) In a further letter Manukau suggested that both councils should wait on the Prime Minister or Minister for Public Works relative to securing a free grant for the road. Cr.
