POLICE CHANGES

Constable B. Thomson, formerly of the Onehunga Police Force, has been transferred to Tuakau to till the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr.' W. Taylor. He has assumed eontix>l of his new post. Constable Waterman, who was relieving, has returned to Parnell. George Street.

During last week a commencement was made with the work in connexion with the completion of George Stneet, from Pirret's Corner to Church of England Corner. The street is now being ploughd up, the wO|)'k on the whole being well under way. The job is being done by day labour owing to a failure to obtain tenders for contract.
