TUAKAU BUTTER FACTORY
GOOD OUTPUT. The output at the New Dairy Company's factory at Tuakau is still remaining high in spits of the advanced season. The recent rainS were beneficial, and as a result the supply showed an increase. Du.'ing last week 930 boxes of butter were manufactured as against •500 for the corresponding period of 1919. In conversation with the mam?: ager, Mr. A. H. Roberts, yesterdiy, a "Times" reporter was informed that the grades were keeping up well, but there was a little trouble through cows being fed on turnips. The fact of farmescs feeding their stock on turnips does not improve the grade of butter. Mr. Roberts also stated that three parts of the output was sold locally on the New Zealand markets. This speaks volumes for the grade of the Tuakau butter. There is a staff of 18 raen ; all fully occupied. In the very near future the company is installing a 95 h.p. suction gas plant, and a 10ton freezer to >v>place the 4-ton freezer now in use. By the installation of the freezer the factory will have a freezing capacity of 10 tons There is not a shadow of doubt"that the Tuakau factory is one of the most completely equipped and up-to-date butter manufacturing concerns in Australasia. Another prominent factor is that the machinery and surroundings are always kept in a spic and span manner, due to the energetic manager and highly qualified staff.
