FRANKLIN A. & P. SHOW
A GREAT ATTRACTION. NEXT WEEK. February 27 and 28, Franklin A. and P. Show days, are red letter ones, ns far as, the public of the Franklin electorate are concernedIt is the Farmers' Festival, a, day out for the "cockatoo" and his.,family. The red letter days will be here next week, and already the community is astir perparing for the H fray. Indications point to the attendance eclipsing all previous records, and if this is achieved, a dual record will have to be chronicled, as tjie entries received also constitute a record in the annals of history of th Franklin A', and P. Society. Besides the entries being large numerically, the quality of the stock promises to be the best
ever exhibited on Franklin soil. Ex-
hibits received from as - far south as Hawke's Bay, and when *> .fcorses of the calibre of Romeo and Batchelor, the property of a wellknown Hawke's Bay lady, are 4, among the entries, all can rest assured that competition will be keen with the best the Auckland Province can produce. The society has been clamouring fov outside entries, and at last some huvedfen secured. Thfs will advertise and when Miss Malier returns to Hawke's Bay she will be able to inform o.ther show enthusiasts, and possibly next
year we will.see showmen from all pa/ts of th<> Jsland, participating. Besides usual features of a show, .there will be various side shows, and wonderful ones at that, so young and old who do not care for stock and competitions can amuse themselves elsewhere. A feature that should appeal to the 'juveniles in particular the m#fry-«fl-round. This is sure to be weflffijffttniß|d ■ The securing the services of a band, and proceedings will be somewhat enlivened by an excellent selection of musical items. The usual picnic parties are sure to b* present, and for the bejMtfjt of these the society are proft vM&Jhpt water free of cost'.' _Jmffk, and for *lfir»|teo cessful sinre the 'inceptiflß-Of the so- <; ciety. essential now to and public patronage.,JSae advertise,- ' ment for furtlief^c'tllSfthtf^.--,
