The Rev. J. P. Cowie informed his congregation on Sunday last that he had received from one who desired to be described as "An humble churchman," the promise of £IOO lowards the new church fund, provided that 19 similar promises were made within three months. Mr. Cowie has since received another similar promise, and hopes that the remaining 18 will soon be forthcoming.
