MAUKU V. BUCKLAND. LATE REPORT. In the course of notes on the above, another correspondent writes: Last Saturday the Buckland tennis season once again sallied forth in Mr. Bert Leighton's motor lorry to play the erturn match against Mauku. They had a very jolly trip over in the lorry, and a very happy afternoon. Afternoon tea was served in the bach at the back of the courts, and, believe me, the Mauku ladies are "some" cooks. They say that the only way to keep man really happy is to "feed the brute." This must have found a veritable paradise. But, in spite of the afternoon tea, Buckland did not win, though we lost only by four games, many of the sets being very evenly contested. At the end of the match, the Mauku Club told Buckland how welcome they were, and how the game had been enjoyed, and called for three cheers for Buckland. President Mr. L. Bilkey, in replying for Buckland, thanked Mauku for the pleasant afternoon, and called for | three cheers for Mauku. j
