WANTED A BAND
APPLY, A. AND P. SOCIETY.
At the meeting of the Franklin A. and P. Society held on Tuesday, the question of a band being in attendance at the showground on the people's day of the show came up for consideration. Members agreed that a band was essential, and the president asked if it would not be better to call tenders.
Mr. J. Roulston thought that the Pukekohe Band could be got together for that date. In days gone by Pukekohe had a good band, but for some reason it had lapsed. He thought that the increasing growth of the district warranted the formation of a band now more than hitherto.*
The president agreed with Mr. Roulston, while the secretary pointed out that with the winter show coming on, besides other functions, there was ample scope for the formation of a band.
Eventually, after considerable discussion, the matter of arranging for the attendance of a band on the people's day was left in the hands of Mr. J. Roulston and the secretary.
