TO CORRESPONDENTS.
Matter for publication must be vritten on one side of the papßr only. For linotyping an ordinary letter size sheet has to be cut in half (crosswise) before it can be accommodated on the machine board, and if writing is on both sides of the paper this means that all on the reverse side has to be i*ewritten at this office. Also, ink or typescript is essential, as it does not pay to waste the time and ruin the eyesight of -Sh skilled operators, in trying to read illegible lead pencil scrawling. And," finally, address all literary communications to the editor, and all business ones to the manager—not in the name of any individual, because, if the individual whose name appears on a letter is absent there is no proof as to whether the letter is personal and private or official; and therefore it has to lie unopened until the addressee returns.
