Pukekohe v. Devonport.
Latter's Narrow Win
Six rinks, representing the Devonport Bowling Club, arrived here by the Kotorua express on Saturday last to try conclusions with the local club. The visitors were met by memere of the local Club, and were motored around the district, over the Pukekohe Hill and to Patumahoe. They were entertained at the Pukekohe hotel after which the green was visited.
The President of the Club, Mr H. Bookett, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors, and in so doing, trusted that they would be able to make the visit an annual one. The teams then settled down to play and on the aggregate Devonport won by 14 points. Some keen and exciting games eventuated The visitors were entertained on the green at afternoon tea, and subsequently left for Auckland by the ten minutes past six train rather pleesed with their day's outing.
