Last Night's Meeting The first meeting of the Papakura Board in the New Tear was held last evening: present: Dr A. W P. Brookfield (chairman"), Messrs T. D. Campbell, A. Wallis, £. D. McLennan and the clerk (Mr A. L. Cooper). auctioneers' licenses The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, applied for auctioneers' licenses for Messrs Joseph Hardwicke and Norman Somerfield and forwarded, cheque for £BO, and urged that the amount be subsidised and expended on metalling the road to the saleyards. The licenses were granted BUILDING PERMIT A building permit was granted Mr George Allington, for the purpose of erecting a house on Opaheke Road. papakuba's park It was decided to apply to the Prime Minister for the £506 which he promised for the purpow of acquiring a park, and advisingthat the matter of a loan ha i been sanctioned by the ratepayers. FINANCE. Accounts amounting to £289 18s 5d were approved, and passed for payment. The bank overdraft was shown at £397 6s Id, but the clerk reported that about £IOO rates bad been received, and £BO for auctioneers licenses. MEETING ADJOURNED.
