MARAMARUA

LABOUR CANDIDATE (Own Correspondent) Last week the Labour candidate, Mr Purtell, addressed a meeting; of settlers at the Marmarua hall, on profiteeung, principally. Mr Furtoll's views are very emphatic o the subject, and profiteers will get no quarter from him. His views on Government reforms are idealistic as yet, but we are not quite ready as a nation to adopt and put into action his ideas. More's the pity, as we need sane and beneficial government at this period of our country's history. Mr Rhodes, our sitting member, speaks here shortly, and our lady candidate follows, to far there is no excitement here over politics, but when election day comes we generally wake up.
