PAPATOETOE ROSE SHOW.

Beautiful Displays

(Own Correspondent)

The Bote Show held in the Papa- . toetoe Town Hall on Friday, 21st November, in aid of the Methodist Church surpassed all expectations. The glorious show of roses were something to remember, the delicate tints of the sweet peas were entranc ing to the eye. The carnations in their colour and loveliness came in for many pleasing compliments from the onlookers! The decorations were carried out under the superintendence ofMrF. Souster, the Minister, and reflected great credit on his artistic taste. The Eev. Bellhouse, President of the Methodist Conference, opened the show, and in a few well chosen remarks declared the show open He congratulated the promoters on the success attained. Without flattery, he considered it the finest flower show he had attended for many years. The display of useful and ornan.ental articles met with a very ready sale, so that in totalling up at the close of the evening it was found that nearly £IOO had been taken, which was very gratifying to the Committee.
