SUBURBAN RAILWAY SERVICE.
Improvement Wanted, Manurewa's ClaimFollowing the discussions of the various town boards, on the suburban train service area, roports of which have appeared in the InrEs. whereat an improved suburban train service was advocated, at the monthly meeting; of the Manurewa Town Board, the chairman (Mr C. 11. Lupton) reported that he had interviewed the I )istriot Trailic Manager, of New Zaaland Kailways, with regard to the mattor. The officer would not accede to the to have the Papatoetoe service extended, hut promised to reinstate the jire-war service, which .was accepted, he added, under which they would ho very well treated Mr T. J Corin said the prewar service was not adequate for a place like Manurewa. Thoy wanted the Papatoetoe service extended to Manurewa. He moved that tire Board write to the Government, a-id demand that the whole of the Papatoetoe service be extended to Manurewa. Mr G Coxhead seconded the motion, which was carried, the chairman voted against, remarking that he would not go back on his word.
