POLITICAL ACTIVITY.

Reform Supporters Tuakau and Onewhero. Political interest is being revived in Tuakau, now that the elections are approaching. A meeting of the friends and supporters of the Rt. Hon. W. F. Maasey was held in the hall on Tuesday evening last, and a branch of the Reform League was formed. Mr D. Fulton was elected chairman of the meeting, and, after explaining the objects, asked the meeting to elect officers for the branch The following gentlemen were elected: Messrs D. Fulton, President; W. Glasgow, Vice President ; E T. Frost, secretary, and treasurer, und the following formed the committee, with power to add. Messrs Deeble, Revell, Fitzpatrick, McFarland. J. Pirret, Cautou, Mun gall, J. Glasgow, Wilton, Capt. Ryder, and R. Wright. The subscription was fixed at 5s per mem bor as the minimum The secretary was instructed to write to the provincial organizer, and try to get the Prime Minister to address a meeting locally. A letter was read from the organizer, and the opinion was expressed that the Party's interests looked bright, and that there is every chance of capturing some new seats in the Province. In response to a public notice convening a meeting of friends and supporters of Mr R. F. Bollard (sitting member) a representative gathering assembled in the Onewhero Hall on Wednesday evening last. The Chairman, Mr T. F. Muir, explained the object of the meeting, being to form a working committee to further the interests of Mr Bollard at the forthcoming election. Keen interest was manifested by all present, and -8 a result two representatives each from Onewhero, Kohonga, and Opuatia, were elected to attend to matters in their respective localities.
