MERCER.

A special feature of the Mercer district at present are the number of weddings taking place A very interesting wedding takes place here on Wednesday, October 22nd, when Miss Evelyn Ridgley, daughter of the local Stationmaster, is to be married to Mr Cuthbert McLean, formerly of Waipu, now of Te Te Kuiti.

A very painful accident occurred to Mr Thomas Tidd, farmer, Mercer, on Sunday morning whilst riding and driving another horse. The horse he was driving lashed out and kicked him above the ankle, fortunately not breaking the bone, but made a nasty flesh wound. Mr Todd was motored to Dr Campbell Smith of Pukekohe, who stitches the wound, and he is now progressing favourably.

A lengthy report of the very successful Railway Ball is unavoidably held over uitil next issue.
