TUAKAU.
A PAINFUL MISHAP. A very painful accident befel Mr W. J. Deeble, butcher, of Tuakau, on Friday morning of last week. It appears that Mr Deeble was making sausages and somehow his hand got caught in the cogs of the machine. The middle finger was amputated at the first joint, while two more were badly lacerated. First aid was rendered by Mr A. H. Tapper, chemist, and the unfortunate man was conveyed to Pukekohe where he received medical attention. He is progressing as well as can be expected.
