SALE OF JERSEY CATTLE.

High Prices at Tuakau.

On October Ist at Tuakau, Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons offered Mr Graham's pedigree Jersey cattle at auction. From all points of view the sale was a huge success. The following were the prices realised.

Bridal Rosebud 11. (Sire. Snowball ; dam, Bridal Rosebud). Furchased by Mr W. McGowan of Papatoetoe for 40gns. Golden Rosebud (Sire, Golden Fox 111, by Majesty's Fox; dam, Bridal Rosebud II.) Purchased by Mrs W. 1 Montefiore, Te Awamutu, 42gns. Tuakau Rosebud (Full sister of Golden Rosebud.) Purchaser Mr Greenway, buckland, 42gns. Rosebud's Golden Fox (Full brother of Golden Rasebud.) Purchased by Mr G. Palmer, Tuakau, 22gns. Waipiko Cai (Sire, Bilberry's Goddington, a grondson of K 0 B ; dam Eminent's Calf, by Eminent's Fontaine ) Purchased by Mr L J. Walters of Puni, for 92gns This cow realised top price of the sale and without doubt she is the best cow in the district. Mr Graham imformed a Times reporter that the beast calved on April 6th 1917. She was 13 months and 13 days of <age when she gave birth to her first calf. During the 2.] years he has had her she has averaged £8 2s per month. The total revenue Mr Grahim derived from her during the period he has owned her was £343. This is derived from the difference in the price he paid for her, and the selling price, together with her progeny and butter-fat. This must be considered a very satisfactory figure. His Eminence (Sire, Eminent's Fontaine ; dam, Waipiko Oai.) Purchased by Mr Greenway, Buckland, 56^ns. Climax (Sire, Waipiko Max, a son of Eminent's Fontaine, and full brother of Eminent's Maggie.) Purchaser Mr McGowan, Papatoetoe, 40gns His Majesty (sire, Golden Fox III; dam, Waipiko Cai) Passed in. Eminent Rosebud (sire, Waipiko Max; dam, Golden Rosebud). Buyer, Mr M. I. Montefiore, Te Awamutu, 30 guineas. Eminent Princess (sire, Sir Eminence; dam, Golden Rosebud) Bought by Mr J. Robertson of Cambridge, 20 guineas. At the same sale Mr Graham offered a number of grade jerseys, and these brought up to 24 10s. On the whole the sale was on of the most successful yet held at Tuakau On behalf of Mr Dynes Fulton, the auctioneers submitted a two year old grade heifer, which realized £36, Mr J. Robinson, of Cambridge being the buyer. Mr Robinson paid the Bamo price for two more of e<jual age, ruuning on Mr Fulton's property and owned by him.
