FRANKLIN COUNTY GRANTS

Satisfaction Promised At yesterday's meeting of the Franklin County Council Cr Claud Motion (chairman) and Cr R. T. Reid reported on their interviews with the Prime Minister and the Minister for Public works, at Wellington, on County business. The chairman stated that they were very cordially received by both Ministers and pointed out to them that the County had retrained from asking for grants during the war period, and therefore expected consideration now in respect to grants for several works of an urgent nature. They were promised that whon the estimates were published the Council would have every reason to be satisfied with the provision made.

A motion of thanks was passed to the Council for their work on behalf of the Council.
