As a labour-saving device the electric trolly now being used on the Wellington wharves is a serviceable power vehicle. Recently one of the trollies was observed pulliDg no fewer than heavy trucks laden with 21 bales of flax. Not only could it easily pull the load, but th e trucks travelled at {least four times as quickly as they would if man-drawn. An enterprising local firm offered to sell the Wanganui Borough Council a motor truck which they stated would carry " three quarters of a hundred weight." The Council was not sure whether it was a wheel barrow under offer or whether the carrying capacity was inadvertently understated.
