TUAKAU.
FOOTBALL MATCH Onewhero 14; Tuakau 0 The final football match of the season, as far as Tuakau is concerned, eventuated on Saturday at Tuakau, when a team representing Onewhero journeyed to Tuakau to meet the home team. The teams met to see who should pay for a dinner. From the kick off until the whistle sounded time, the visitors had the home team hard at it, and eventually romped off the field of play victors to the tune of 14 points to nil. Mr A. Madill proved an impartial referee. After the match the visitors were hospitably entettaiued at dinner at the Tuakau hotel.
CRICKET CLUB FORMED With the object of establishing a Cricket Club in Tuakau, a well attended meeting of those interested eventuated in Mr H Abbott's billiard sal >on on Monday night. Mr W Taylor was voted to the chair, and explained the objects of 'the meeting. TJiose present were in accord with the proposal to establish a Club and eventually, after discussion it was decided to form a team. The following officers were elected: Patron, Right Hon. W. F. Massey, Prime Minister; President, Mr Dynes Fulton; committee, Messrs W. Taylor, C. Howard. 8. Connolly, J. Rodgers, H. Wilson, W. Barnaby, and H- Abbott. Mi Taylor was elected chairman and Mr Abbott, secretary. The secretary was instructed to write to various surrounding districts, with an endeavour to form a Franklin Cricket Association.
