DAILY MAIL SERVICE
Pukekohe to Waiuku Via Puni, Tuke Tuke, Aka Aka and Otaua The following is a copy of a petition from the residents of the above places, that has been forwarded to the Postmaster General: " We, the undesigned residents of Waivku, Otaua, Aka Aka, Tuke Tuke, and Puni, respectfully »pquest you to favourably consider the granting of a daily mail service from Pukekohe to Waiuku, via Puni, Tuke Tuke, Otaua, Aka Aka At present this service is run by four separate contractors, via Pukekohe, Puni, Waiuku-Otaua, and WaiukuAka Aka. " The granting of our requost would elimnate the whole of these contracts, and give us a direct daily service with Pukekohe. Also, with the over-carriage of mails to Waiuku and back to Otaua and Aka Aka. tho distanco between Pukekohe and Waiuku, via Aka Aka our proposed service, and the present Pukekohe Patumahee Waiuku seivice is the same. Whereas by the present ier vice the mails have to be over carried to Otau.i and Aka Aka by special contract, causing considerable expenso and delay, the new service would give I'u.ii, Tuke Tuke, Otuau and Aka Aka a daily service, also giving Waiuku the bouftic of an extra daily service from ail of tho above districts. "If our proposals aro given cheat to, the services being increasod from a three days a week to a daily one, such will be much more satisfactory to us, and considerably less expensive to your department."
