i On the 19: h inst a meeting of the hall executive was held at the Sec- ! retary's residence, Mr E. C. Martin. Members present were : Messis M Harvey, <Ridgley, J. A. Short, E. ; C. Martin and H. Furni&s. In the absence of the chairman , (Mr Renall) Mr O. Ridgley was voted to the chair. Amongst the ! business transacted wero a couple of estimates in timber and concrete which were considered too high, owing to the matter of finance. It was decided to hold another meeting to endeavour to have the chairman and a full committee present. On the evening of the 20th inst. the Anglican Church Committee held thsir half-yearly church meeting, those present being Messrs H. Harvey, J. Harvey, M Harvey, W. Watson, 0. Ridgley. W. Wright and Arthur Wright. The meeting was for the purpose of arranging the final payment of St. Mark's Church, Waipipi. The welcome home social committee met . n Thursday evening, and held a meeting for the purpose of arranging details in connexion with the soldiers' home coming. It is to be tho event of the season and a right royal welcome home to the lads. Dairying matters are nearly in full.swing hereabouts, Messrs Keogh Bros, cream wjggon running four times per week. Pastures as a rule, are looking fairly well, although the beginning of the present week, with its three days of very cold blast from the west, was enough to freeze everything alive or dead Conditions are now somewhat mild, with indications of rain; it is reckoned to be the driest winter for many years past. Mr Johu Dickey, Waipipi, is very ill at his son's residence. Mr Dickey is aged 77 years, and under Dr Howden's care.
