HOCKEY.
The Auckland hockey representa-1 rives journeyed to Patumahoe on Saturday to try conclusions with the Franklin representatives. Unfortunately, when nearing Connie's Hill, the lorry conveying tho Aucklanders, broke down, and Mr B. Hart's lorry had to be requisitioned to convey the team to the scene of hostilities. A commencement was made shortly before 5 o'clock, and two short spells were played. Auckland prevailing by 5 goals to 2. T Conroy scored for Franklin. Ho later sustained a bad smack on the jaw. Mr C Howard referred. LADIES' HOCKEY Pukekohe A. and B. teacs meet Seven aside teams, representing Pukekohe Ladies' Hockey Club, played at Patumahoe on Saturday, as a curtain raiser to the rep. match. The B's triumphed by one goal to nil. Miss Vera Maloney netting for the winners. Mr T Conroy controlled the whistle.
