MOTOR GAR OVERTURNS.
OCCUPANTS PINNED BENEATH. SERIOUB INJUBIEB SUSTAINED. An accident that could have been attended with more serious results, occurred on Saturday afternoon at Pani. It appears that a party from the Pukekohe Hotel, consisting of Mrs Clarke, Mrs Williams, Miss Burton, Messrs J. Clarke (driver), D. Clarke, and Ben Docherty, took advantage of the beautiful afternoon, and went for a " joy ride " in Mr O. Clarke's motor car. Everything went well until the car was rounding tho bend near Mr Barney Foy's place, at Puni. Somehow the driver could not negotiate the bad bend, and the car was over-turned. The occupants were thrown clear, except Messrs D, Clarke and Docherty, who were pinned under the auto. The car was lifted off these, and they were found to be unhurt. Afterwards it was found that Mrs Clarke, who had been thrown some distance, had been severely wounded on the leg, as well as suffering severely from shock. On Sunday night Mrs Clarke's condition showed little improvement. After the accident, Mrs Clarke was removed to the hotel, but the unfortunate lady had a bad Sunday night, On Monday her condition became very serious, and caused the relatives and friends grave anxiety Daring Monday night, she took a turn for the better, and to-day her condition is much improved.
