FREEGARD-POPE

A wedding of considerable district nterest was celebrated in the Public Hall last Wednesday, the contractiug parties being Mr Alfred Freeguard, of Waetenga, and Annie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C Pope, of Manngatawhiri Valley, the officiating clergyman being the Rev Johnstone, (Anglican) of Auckland The bride was charmingly attired in white crepe-de-chine, and wore the orthodox wioath and veil.

Miss Jessie Pope, sister of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, and wore pale pink crepe-de-chine. Two other attendants on the bride, Miss Stella Reed, cousin of the bride, and Miss Bruce, of Hamilton, worn heliotrope dresses with pink trimming Mr J Freegard acted as best man The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold bangle, and to the bridesmaids, gold brooches. The wedding breakfast was held in the supper room of the Hall, over sixty guests being present. A most enjoyable dance followed in the even ing.

The young couple will take up their residence in Morrinsville, where Mr Freegard has farm property.
