MERCER.

CHUROH SOCIAL A very successful social in aid of the Catholic Church was held in Mercer Town Hall on Friday. The hall was tastefully decorated, great credit being due to Messrs Bolton, Riordan and Whitten. Prizes for the best fancy dresses for children were won by Miss Rippon, as Brit" tannia, and Master Horan as " Teddy Bear." The music was supplied by Huntly Orchestra, and gave every satisfaction. Musical items were rendered during the evening by Misses Riordan and Taylor, and Mesdames Vaughan and Gillibrand. The feature of the evening was the splendid supper provided under the capable management of Mesdames Kelly, (3), Horan, Walsh and Hassett. The sueeess of the social was due to the splendid organisation of Mrs E. Kelly, secretary.
