Billiards and Snooker.

PUKEKOHE AGAIN DEFEATED. The return billiards match,between teams representing Pukekohe and Patumahoe, took place at Pukekehe on Thursday evening. Patumahoe sprang a surprise on tho Pukekohe men, as the latter were unaware that they lud fixed 'lhursday for the return m-tch. I.\\ntually, after a little chasing round, a scratch team was formed. Pukekohe again suffering defeat by four games to three. In two matches the home men were beaten on the post by one point. The billiards gamo was of 200 up, while in the snooker tournament three games had to be played. Pukekohe's winners were —Billiards, H. Short, R. McGough; Snooker- -F. fl. Hewitt. On the aggregate the visitors won by 80 points. Results were—Billiards (Patumahoe names mentioned first) W. Pleydell, 200, beat S. Clews, 127; R.Johns, 200, beat J. Blake, 100; W. Howe, 187, lost to H. Short, 200; Togo, 159, lost to R. McGough, 200. Totals, Patumahoe, 740, Pukekohe, 726. Snooker —G. Howard, 177, beat W. Massey, 108; R. Aldred, 120, lost to F. H. Hewitt, 130; E. Cuff, 115, beat S. Mitchell, 114. Totals, Patumohoe, 412, Pukekohe, 352. Patumahoe thus won the evening by 80 points. At the conclusion of the match the visitors were entertained at supper in the Masonic Hall, when Mr. Johns, on behalf of the visitors, thanked Mr. Armstrong, captain of the local team, for the excellent ovening's entertainment. Mr.Armstrong briefly returned tnanks.

Another game will shortly be played at Patumahoe.
