DRURY-RUNCIMAN.

BED CROSS. Report of Work from June 27th, 1918, to March 31st, 1919. This Branch of the Auckland ; Women's Patriotic League has ; during these nine months of its fourth year of work held seven ordinary monthly meetings with an average attendance of twelve members. The members have kept up a good supply of knitted comforts, a parcel having been sent to the Mayoress, Auckland, each month. In all, 581 articles have been forwarded since last June. The children of the Drury School contributed each month to the Dominion Gift Fund, till, with the signing of the armistice, this scheme whs discontinued.

In making; this final report the members of this Branch League have much pleasure in again thanking the Drury Hall Committee for the use of the hall, free of charge, during the whole period of their activities ; atao they desire to thank Mr 8. Fielding for auditing their accounts each year. In disbanding, the Executive report that during the time (nearly four years) rhis branch has been in existence the members have cotitri buted and collected £SBB 8s 4d in cash. This money has been chi> fly expended upon the purchase of wool fwr corufor&s for the soldiers some 2,700 knitted articles having b«en sent forward. Iu bringing the work to a close the cash in hand, £SO, »vas paid iuto the Wounded Soldiers' Reli<-f Fund Auckland, and two pairs of knitted socks were given to returned men iu the district.

At the final mea.ing of the League a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Executive, the members of which have held office during the whole period. A special tribute was paid to the Precedent, Mrs McMurtrie for her never-failing zeal, she having presided at every meeting—Helex Barnes, Hon. Sec. The balance-sheet from June, 1918, to March 1919, was presented, and showed as follows :—Lieeeipts : Balance in haud, £42 7s 6id ; contributions, £3l 8s 3d ; afternoon tea, £3 14s 9d ; Dominion gifts, £2 7s 6d ; Christmas gifts, £5 los; tribute to France, £2 5s Bid ; sale of wool, £4 4s 6d ; interest, £1 10s sd; badges, 10s ; Belgian Relief Fund, £7 lis 6d ; Refund Auckland Women's Patriotic League, £8 los; total, £llO 10s 2d. Expendiiure : Dominion gifts, £2 7s 6d ; wool, £4O 14s lid; Christmas gifts, £5 los; working expenses, £1 5s 6£d ; tri bute to France, £2 5s SJd ; Belgian Relief Fund, £7 lis 6d ; badges, 108; Wounded Soldiers' Relief Fund, Auckland, £SO; total, £llO 10a 2d.
