NEWS AND NOTES The Householders meeting was held in the school on Monday, with a small attendance. The following committee was elected : A. C. Beer (Chairman), T. Hamilton (secretary smd treasurer),* W. Holmes, R. j. Dangle, J. W. Robinson. A deputation from the Ladies Patriotic Committee was present asking for tho School Committee to "cmbine with them for the purpose of doing somethiug in the way of a memorial for the boys who went to the war from this district. It was decided to erect a flagstaff and secure a Roll of Honour for upwards of fifty names of old boys of ths school and also of the district. Farmers' Union meeting on June 14th : There was a fair attendance. The delegate to the Provincial Conference gave a report of proceedings in Auckland during Farmers' Week. The Secretary, Mr J. W r . Robinson, tendered his resignation, having sold his farm, and is leaving the district. Mr L Morgan was appointed secretary pro tern.
