KITCHEN SHOWER.
On Monday evening last, at the invitation of Rev. S. and Mrs Nixon, about forty young people assembled at the Manse to give a " Kitchen Shower" to their popular young friend, Miss Ruth McNally, who was about to be married.
The entertainment of the evening consisted of amusing competitions, ingenious games, recitations, vocal and instrumental music.
During an interval, the Rev. 8. Nixon, in an appropriate speech, expressed the good-will of all present for the future happiness of the guest of the evening. Mr Nixon then transferred to Miss McNally a large number of useful kitchen utensils that had been presented by her young friends. Mr J. Crowe, in a felicitous speech, replied on behalf of Miss McNally. After supper and some music a most pleasant evening was brought to a close.
