DISTRICT NEWS.
\ ARARIMU. LAND SALES As a result of the keen demand existing for land at present, sales are reported of a number of properties here, and as would-be purchasers are still very active inspecting other farms, no doubt further sales will take place in the near future. FODDEK BCARCE. The dairying season has ju>.t about closed, the cream supply being very low on account of the dry weather. Feed is scarcer than usual, even turnip crops being checked by the continued drought. MAIN ROAD. The County Council's stone-crush-ing plant is engaged here at present, and a further section of the main road is being permanently metalled As the Council has also let contracts for providing a thousand yards of spawls for Pratt's Hill deviation, the prospect of at last seeing a wellmetalled main road right to the centre of the district is- more than ordinarily bright.
