The n"xt meeting of the Papakura Town Board ill tnke place on Monday, April 7th and nt its conclusion a special meeting will be held to receive the annual balSTfcosheet fir the year eqding March :ilst, 1918.

The Sunday School anniversary was held in the Papakura Methodist Church on Sunday, the 16th inst, followed by a social and priza presentation on the 18th. The Rev. A B. Ohappell M .A., conducted ser vices morning and evening to crowded congregations The singing of tie children, who had been well trained by Mr H. W. Gibbs, the church choirmaster, was a prominent foature. During the morning service Mr S. Evans, Sunday Hchool Superintendent, wacalled upon to dedicate a Communion table presented to the Church by Mr and Mrs Linstrom, in memory or thtir only son, a Sunday School scholar. The table is provided with cupboards and is a very handsome and becoming piece of church furniture. A silver plate bears the engraving "In memoriam, "William Raymond Linstrom, May 25th, 1918." Mr Evans in a few touching and appropriate words referred t» the deceased's character. It may be mentioned that the Papakura Methodist Chutch is also embellished by a very fine 801 l of Honour board. Each name is inscribed on a brass plate and a cross is placed agaiust the names of those wno have made the supreme sacrifice. The whole work reflects oredit on the Church and i& a lasting memorial to our b;ave boys. There has been a good deal of talk about welcoming home " the boys," some of wnom have been back several month* In the meantime it is refreshing to know that the Papa kura Voluntary Committeo is in action. The followiog is a copy of a very neat and prettv card sent to returned soldiers, viz , " The mem here of the Papakura Send off and Reception Committer offer you tin it congratulations upon your return to New Zealand after taking part in the Great War 1914-1!)
