WOMEN FARMERS IN THE UNITED STATES.

The request of the United States Department of Labour, asking: the Woman's Land Army to affiliate with it, was granted by a unanimous vote at a meeting; of State chairmen (says the ' Monitor.') Henceforth President Wilson, through the Federal employment office, will assist iu the recruiting of farmerettes, and the army will be prepared to furnish women labourers in whatever part of the country they are most needed. During the past season about 15,000 young women worked on farms hroughout the country, and, according to Mrs Margaret Neale, assistant to the Director-General of the Women's Division of the United States Employment Service, the demands of the coming year will be far greater.
