BETUBNED riOLDIEBS WELCOMED. 1 Under the auspices of the Alfris-ton-3rookby Bed Cross League, a "welcome home" social and dance 1 were tendered to L -Cpl Ohas. Fitz patrick, L Cpl. John Sutton, and Trooper W. J. Jnskip, in the Altos ton hall, on Friday evening last A most enjoyable evening was spent in dancing, cards, etc A varied musical programme was contributed to by Mrs fi. D. Dunn, Miss lima Campbell, Messrs W. Moody, and Biomley. Mr H. Moody, on behalf of the district, tendered to the guests a hearty welcome home, and in asking each to accept a solid silver matchbox, suitably eugiaved, as a me m mto of the evening he expressed a hope that they would so<>n settle down to the normal conditions of life. The hall was artitically decorated with fernerp Appreciative thanks were tendered to Mrs Harold Walters and Mm B D. Dunn for providing excellent music, and the gathering was one of the largest that has ever assembled in the hall. Messrs E Hansch and W. Moody ably acted as M C.'s for the dance. A meeting, convened by Messrs H Moody and H. E. Potter, is to be held in the Alfriston Hall next Monday evening at eight o'clock, for the purpose of arranging Peace celebrations, and to consider the matter of the erection of a memorial in honour of fallen soldiers,
