! MANUREWA'S POST OFFICE (To the Editor.) I Sir,—lf when you arrived home thi.s evening the servant girl informed you that positions had been reversed and that henceforth she was •' buss," to use a common colonial expression " I guess there would be something So that whilst we would not tolerate such a state of affairs in our homes the public have for years past realised that the j -iV'ho.y servants are in possession ©f I 'ho railways and now the Postal | Department and Public Works ! servants arc '''maniiig the show" i «nd are going, without Ist or I hindrance, u, dump down anything lin y.-ur midst and ■ the cheek of I you ' to even question it :
Some six or seven years ago the most valuable section in Manurewa was given to the Postal Department on condition that a Post Office would he erected in a stated period. The Department broke faith with the donors, but to keep a long suffering public quiet they have dangled a miserable grant on the estimates for four or five years. Now on the authority of those who by dint of perseverance have seen the plans they describe the building as a baekblocks Post Office with no living y.aneis but the usual wooden i- j nce.. We'l Manurewa are you going to " take it sitting down ?" Remember the section was given to the Department, the whole of the traffic by road from north to south and vice versa must pass this given point and whilst we are beautifying our school right opposite and intend to make this Manurewa a model suburb are you going to let these "your seivants" foist on you a shanty 0 P.0.-Yours etc., ENO.S S PEOLER.
