Meeting of Executive The monthly meeting of the executive of the South Auckland Dairy Association was held at Hamilton last Tuesday when there were present: Messrs Buchanan, Facey, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Allen and Ferguson. An apology for unavoidable absence was received from Mr Darrell. BEBIGNATION Mr James Boddie forwarded his resignation as a member of the executive as he is not now connected with any associated company. The resignation was accepted wirh regret. LAST SEASON'B BUTTFK Letters were read from the Acting Prime Minister and the H'n I) H. Guthiie in connection with the 50 per cent, payment ou butter for the 1917 18 season. Mr Goodfellow reported that the Butter Committee bad now accepted 17s per cwt as the N«-w Zealand producers' further share regarding ihe butter EQUALISATION FUND Ou the mo l inn of Mr Pacey, it was dtcided that the secretary, Mr Kug lish, should communicate with the Acting Prime Minister, Hon. I> II Guthrie, and fie Hon. \V. I) S Macdonald rmu»s?itig that the Gov ernruent be asked to announce whether it is their intention to proceed with the Equalisation Fund for the 1917-18 season, and if so, that the matter should be taken iu hand at once. Should the Government have decided not to proceed with the fund, then the Government should be asked to immediately pay out to factories without it. SALE TO IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT Mr Buchanan moved, and Mr Goodfellow seconded, that the Act-ing-Prime Minister be written to st.ting that the Association is of opinion that the Government has not treated the producers fairly in connection with the combined sale made in respect of butter and cbeose. The Association contiders that a separate deal should have been made with the Imperial Government in respect of batter, and a separate deal with regard to cheese, more particularly as a separate contract was made with regard to glaxo.

BUTTER FAT PAYMENT It was decided that the payment in respect of milk supplied in December and January should be as follows—Butter Is 4d, cheese Is 7d, dried milk ls9d. HORAHOBA HYDRO-ELECTKIC PLANT On the motion of Mr Goodfellow, seconded by Mr Buchanan, it was resolved that the Association request the Government to forthwith proceed with the purchase of the Horahora hydroelectric plant. Copies of this resolution are to bo sent to the Acting-Prime Minister, the Hods. Fraser, Macdonald and Henries, aDd Messrs Young, Bollard and Poland, M.'sP.
