A request that a new site be chosen for the unloading of stable manure from railway trucks at Otahuhu was made to the Minister for Railways in Auckland last Tuesday by a deputation consisting of the Mayor of Otahuhu (Mr A. McDonald) and Mr R. Todd. It was stated that flies were attracted to the spot at which the trucks were now unloaded, and that an unpleasantness was thus caused to people in the vicinity. It was suggested that in view of contemplated alterations to the station a sita for unloading manure might be found at some distance from the station, where there were no dwellings. Mr Herries said that he would confer on the matter with the officers of the Department on his return to Wellington. The deputation was introduced by Sir Fredrick Lang, M P.
