OTAHUHU.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Franklin Lodge (No. 91) of Oddfellows took place in the Masonic Hall last Wednesday night. N.G, Bro. W. Pee presided, and there was a good attendance of members. This being the end of the year, nomination of officers for the ensuing session was taken. Owing to war conditions, which prevented new members being enrolled, it was necessary for members to be nominated for offices that they had previously held. The nominations received were as follows: —N.O, Bro H.Jackson; V.G, Bro H. Wills; E. 8., Bro J. Gardiner; Treasurer, Bro J. Hotham. The question of procuring a Perm ment Secretary to the Lodge is causing members some anxiety. The offica had b ?en most efficiently filled for fie past two years by Bro F. A. Gibson, who had to retire in consequence of being called up in the ballot tor the Second Division The position was satisfactorily managed by Bro 8. A Fearnley for the past quarter, but he now has to vacate the offloo on account of business arrangements. The only nomination for the office was that accorded to Bro F. Kevey, who consented to accept nomination. It was resolved to increase the salary of the Permanent Secretary, in view of the onerous duties connected therewith.
