BUCKLAND.
At the Pukekohe Magistrate's Court on Thursday last, before Mr F. K Hunt, S M., a young woman, a resident of Buckland, proceeded against a soldier, whose home is in Buckland, in respect of an order for the maintenance of an illegitimate child, of which she alleged the soldier was the father. The defendant was present in Court in uniform. Defendant, on oath, denied the paternity of the child, and the Magistrate, in holding that there was not sufficient corroboration of complainant's evidence, dismissed the application without prejudice.
