PAPAKURA.
Mr Harry Lloyd, who recently removed from Papakura to St. Helier's Bay, is shortly to enter into possession of the Shakespeare Hotel, Albert Street, Auckland. " Foresight is the weapon of the wise." At least the Papakura Town Board is of that opinion. At the special meeting of the Board last evening Mr D. W. Jones, who was acting chairman, thought the time opportune to make preparations for peace celebrations. He believed it was only, a matter of a very short before Germany would " cave in " and with this object in view he thought the prominent citizens of the district should be invited to co-operate with the Board to discuss the question as to what form the ceremony should take. Mr Jones' suggestion was agreed upon and the Board and citizens are to meet at 8 p.m. on Friday next.
